About the event

ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT TREK - 16 Days

The Annapurna Circuit trek is a classic and iconic hike in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This challenging and rewarding trek takes you through some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the world, from lush forests and terraced fields to high-altitude deserts and snow-capped peaks.

The Annapurna Circuit trek is known for its varied and ever-changing scenery. You'll start in the lush green valley of Besishahar and make your way through forests of oak and rhododendron, past cascading waterfalls and terraced fields of rice and wheat. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more arid and rocky, eventually turning into a high-altitude desert known as the Thorong La Pass. Here, you'll be treated to views of some of the highest peaks in the Annapurna range, including Annapurna South and the revered holy mountain of Machhapuchhre.

TheAnnapurna Circuit trek is a physically demanding hike, but the rewards are well worth it. Not only will you experience some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world, but you'll also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture, staying in traditional teahouses and villages along the way. In the early morning, we start walking from Manang to Ledar. The landscape around this area is very similar to the Tibetan plateau. The trek of almost 3 hours seems to be more gradual, however, takes longer time to cover shorter distances because of the trouble in breathing with the marvellous view of Annapurna all the way. In addition, we can see Peak 29 and Himchuli behind us. Climbing through the path, we pass the summer village of Gunsang where we cross Gundon Khola via a wooden bridge and finally arrive at a small settlement of Ledar.

Leaving Ledar, we ascend gradually to a ridge prior to descending to the headwaters of the Marsyangdi crossing via a covered wooden bridge. After a short rise up the mountain path on the right bank, we will enter into a narrow trail across a wobbly slope and then tumble down to Thorang Phedi in an overall walk of about 3 hours.

We will ascend to the top of the Thorung la Pass reaching 5416m in elevation which is the highest elevation for the entire trek. On the other side of the pass, the landscape changes vividly from snowy mountains to brown-yellow areas which resemble the desert. The descent toddles to the Hindu temple,” God of Salvation” Muktinath. This sacred temple is considered to be the best example that shows a relationship and harmony between Hinduism and Buddhism.
