About the event

MARDI HIMAL TREK - 12 Days

The Mardi Himal Trek is a lesser-known but equally rewarding trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Located just east of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the Mardi Himal Trek takes you to the base of Mardi Himal, a 5,587 meter (18,324 feet) mountain located in the western part of the country.

The trek begins in Pokhara, a lakeside town that serves as the gateway to the Annapurna region. From there, you'll follow a well-marked trail through stunning landscapes, including terraced rice paddies, subtropical forests, and high-altitude plateaus. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to visit local villages and meet the friendly Gurung people, who have lived in the region for centuries.

As you make your way towards Mardi Himal Base Camp, you'll pass through the Modi Khola Valley, home to a number of small villages and waterfalls. You'll also have the chance to visit the sacred hot springs at Jhinu Danda, which are believed to have healing properties.

The final stretch of the trek takes you through the Mardi Himal Ridge, a narrow and exposed path that offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Fishtail. The base camp itself is located at an altitude of 4,500 meters (14,764 feet) and offers panoramic views of the Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna ranges.

The Mardi Himal Trek is a challenging but rewarding journey that takes you to one of the most beautiful and remote corners of the Annapurna region. The views of the surrounding mountains are truly breathtaking and will stay with you for a lifetime.
